3M Company (MMM)

This was one of the financial crisis buys that did well. Entered $74 in 2007 and took profit at a few highs. Sold off the principal to pay down student loans back in 2018, and still own 19.44 shares that are pure dividend. It would be higher except for the haircuts provided by acquisitions of the trading providers where the merger accountants decide that their costs were more important than their customers portfolios so sold off all fractional shares.

MMM has been on a decline lately. I haven’t watched it all that closely because it is all playing with the house’s money at this point. Still, it is a solid company, and buying at a bargain price is still a good strategy for the next couple of years. I’m going to watch for a drop to $75 and consider whether to add some and drop some.
